origin and provenance
A sweet and complex coffee produced by multiple smallholder farmers in the Rusizi region of Rwanda and processed at the Muhehwe washing station.
Cherries are hand-picked and undergo strict selection both at farm level and again at the station, where they are sorted, density-separated and depulped within hours of harvest. This is followed by a controlled fermentation (15–18 hours), washing, soaking, and drying on raised beds.
The process is highly meticulous, including flotation sorting, density separation and wastewater treatment systems using effective microorganisms.
In the cup, this results in an elegant and layered profile with notes of honey and chocolate, complemented by stone fruit, citrus and floral nuances. The body is round, the sweetness pronounced and the acidity juicy and well integrated.
A coffee that clearly reflects Rwanda’s precision and growing reputation for high-quality production.
