Origin and provenance
Grown in the Gedeb area, this coffee comes from small farms and is processed at the Banko Gotiti station, founded in 2009. The 1300 hectares of shade-grown coffee are cultivated at altitudes between 1950 and 2100 meters, in association with indigenous trees and false banana plants. This coffee falls within the “Diima” aromatic profile, which means “red” in the Oromiffa language, and features vibrant notes of fruit candy, violet flowers and tropical fruits like mango and banana. Managed by Museyid Sermelo, the meticulous processing involves careful selection, 36-48 hours of fermentation, washing, soaking and drying on African beds for 10-15 days.
