Congo Amka

A bold, vibrant coffee where the juicy sweetness of red apple and bergamot meets the zesty brightness of lemon and grapefruit. Floral notes and hints of blackberry complete the aromatic profile of this lot, marked by pronounced citric acidity and refined complexity. Origin and provenance

This lot originates from a sustainability and fair-trade initiative launched in 2021 to support Congolese farmers in the Kivu region. This land, scarred by decades of conflict and still threatened today by more than 120 armed groups, has become a symbol of resilience and rebirth.

The farms stretch across the fertile volcanic slopes surrounding Lake Kivu, at elevations between 1,450 and 1,850 meters, in a temperate tropical climate ideal for producing high-quality coffee. The Amka-Mlimaji cooperative, founded in 2011 by just 15 members, now includes over 1,600 active growers, 45% of whom are women. Every bean is handpicked and processed with meticulous methods to preserve the purity and complexity of this Blue Mountain K3 Arabica.

This coffee is more than a beverage: it is a bridge between those who cultivate it with dedication in a wounded land and those who savor it with awareness and gratitude.
